David Goodenough

David is a practising solicitor and Chartered Secretary with sixteen years of commercial experience. He currently provides professional services in the following areas: 

 

• Charity & Non-Profit Associations;
• Corporate & Commercial Law;
• General Counsel Services.

 

Prior to being admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2007, David held management positions with several Australian IT & T industry leaders since 1994, such as ASI Solutions, Alcatel Australia and was the Executive Director for New Zealand IT leader, asnet Limited, from 2001 – 2003 managing its Australian operation. 

 

David can operate at all levels within an organisation and articulate legal, commercial and technical risk proficiently. Key competencies are:

 

• Regulatory & Compliance – provide daily legal support in relation to the governance and oversight responsibilities of the organisation;
• Litigation & Dispute resolution – experience in litigation proceedings and with alternate dispute resolution through negotiation and mediation.
• Contract/Risk Management – extensive experience in drafting, negotiating, closing and managing multi-million dollar contracts.
• Project Management - extensive experience in planning and delivering large-scale multi-million dollar infrastructure projects;
• Teamwork & Leadership – experience in direct management and virtual project teams;
• Strategy & Execution - effectively manage and analyse information to produce both strategic and tactical outcomes;
• Finance & Administration -  demonstrated financial analysis and administrative abilities;
• Relationship Management - can successfully build relationships at the C-level;
• Cross Cultural Communication - extensive working experience in communicating and with people across cultures, in Australia and overseas;
• Technology – proven track record in designing/delivering complex technology projects.

 

Being a corporate governance professional and an experienced director, David has the personal qualities and abilities to lead discussion, encourage participation of the other Board members and conduct meetings in a manner that demonstrates a desire to establish effective communications with all stakeholders.
